Microscale.

This is something I've always wanted to try and with my latest dabbling in medieval builds I decided to go for it. I wouldn't say I really enjoyed this because it was quite fragile but the end result is well worth it. I may do more micro castles because they just look sooo good. I also learned several things. First, you may think microscale is easier because you don't have to worry about adding in as much detail. You actually have to think about details much more because you have to convey the build in such a small size. Also, it's impossible to build a working microscale trebuchet.
I originally wanted a small river separating the castle from farmland. Due to lack of parts I changed it so it's now on a sort of small island in a bay.

Overview of the castle. The gatehouse was built first with the rest around it.

So, war doesn't come often to this kingdom but if it does they chop or burn the bridge away then drop the portcullis. I didn't build that in. I was originally going to make a working drawbridge but it didn't work in this scale.
The keep. I went through multiple designs for the roof including fairy-tale spires but this was the best. The spires didn't fir with the rest of the castle.

Little tower. That brick with the hole is the door.

Stable or barracks set in the wall. Oddly enough this is one of my favourite parts of the build. I like little details like this.
Dock and ship. These were added on today after I finished the rest of the build.

The little road leading to the castle with two knights on horseback.

Bit of a closeup on the knights. They are a little big.

The messy underside. This was a beast to build because it was so fragile.

Trebuchet.

I wouldn't really call this a version 2.0 of my catapult since it's pretty much a different design but it does share many similarities in the design.
It's sort of a trebuchet and a catapult smashed together.

The swinging counterweight. I hinged it just like the real life ones. It really works.

I kept the breakaway mechanism and the catapult bucket because I simply could not think of another angle.

I made it large and beefy and without wheels as if it had been built at the site of the seige.

So when you break the chain away the counterweight swings down like this...

The bucket comes up like this, and flings the brick considerably farther than my other catapult.

Either that or it breaks apart like so. The arms are too long and even after reinforcing it with technic pins it's still quite fragile.

Medieval Stuff

The outpost here wasn't planned to be showcased on it's own but my vision required a lot more skill than I have at the moment and I gave it up. However, the outpost still looks impressive on it's own plus I had something else I wanted to share.
I tried to go for a weatherbeaten look.

The second floor is supported by huge ironwood pillars. There's also a window to look out out of.

I have no idea why I don't make trapdoors. It must get pretty leaky when it rains.

Now for the secret. I built the entire outpost first then built the base to match. It was probably one of the harder things I've done with my lego but it worked in the end.

Now a pic of the interior. And that is why it's so big. I had to fit those two stairs in there.

And now for my catapult/trebuchet/??? I'm not good at knowing what a particular medieval siege machine is. I built it with my own ideas and no reference pictures.

How it works. This is my breakaway mechanism, You just snap that brown stick to the side...

The chains come away and it either does this...

Or it falls away beautifully and it flings your ammo, a few centimeters? Yeah, it definitely needs more work and I'm probably going to come up with a version 2.0.

Veggie Burger Factory

The reason I didn't finish this is because I had absolutely no idea where I was going with the rest of it and I got pretty sick so I have zero motivation. That being said I think the factory is a excellent build.

Overview of the factory.

So first these robot arms pour the gelatinous veggie burger out in a precise shape and amount.

The veggie burger heads into this oven where it is simultaneously baked and sprayed with enough preservatives that it doesn't need refrigeration during shipping. Then it turns 90 degrees and...

Is dropped off into that tray where a man boxes it. That grey thingy is a walkway across the conveyor belt.

The worker then hauls the boxes up here.

Then uses an electromagnetic crane to load them into a truck.

My personal favorite part is the roof. It was fairly easy to do the skylights but it wasn't my first idea.

Part of the police office I was kind of working on. I also had an idea for a bank but it didn't work.

Life Sized Pistol Tacticool Version

After I finished my last post I got to thinking, "How could I improve on this gun?" Well I found a way. By over-taccing it I finally have my dream pistol. Now I just need to make a laser, stock and folding handgrip and it will be out of the realm of tacticool and into the realm of plain ridiculousness.

The full build in all it's glory! I added silencer, extended mag and reflex sight along with various other cosmetic changes.

First up. Extended mag for 15 more rounds of pew.

Some small changes on the flashlight.

Reflex sight. My personal favourite addition, this turned out exactly like I had pictured it.

Silencer. It's more of a bloc silencer than a round one, I think those look cooler anyway. Since it's only held in by a technic rod it's a little unstable.

View of the inside.

The bare bones gun with no accessories. Very boring.

View through the reflex sight. I wish I could get it to work.

Me holding the gun to show off the size.

Life Sized Pistol

Maybe I'm out of practice but this thing was a pain to build. I literally gave up on it when it was still just the handle, then came back ten seconds later.
It's quite large, akin to the Desert Eagle or 1911.

Flashlight.

That trigger guard is a brace for the handle. So is that bump on the back and there's more support inside. And the handle's still a little weak.

The removable mag! This is what started the gun. It looks simple but it took me multiple tries. It's held in place with simple friction but it's solid.

The front sight. I wanted to make a reflex sight but quit after the second try.

It's fairly comfortable but kind of sharp in places.

APC

It's been awhile since I tried my hand at an APC. This was inspired by lego APCs I've seen which were in turn inspired by the APC in the movie Aliens.

My only gripe is the fact that there are no mudguards.

The front. I knew I was going to tilt the windshield.

The sideways opening door. They have to kind of duck their head to get out.

I'm real happy with this remote controlled MG. Usually I don't build armament on my vehicles.

The roof opens.

I took the roof off for this pic. As you can see it's a little cramped but there's room for four guys to sit down and one guy to stand up. The black helmet belongs to the MG/radio operator.

Windshield and roof removed to show the interior.

Now to show off some improvements to my other builds. First are the new boosters for my dropship.

And the folding landing gear and nose mounted gun.

And for my heavy mech I added two more guns under the nose and tacced out his two miniguns.

Group shot of all my Confederation forces. I'm planning to start adding on to my armies of Coalition and Confederation but right now my Confederation would be able to roll the Coalition.
